Using sharp kitchen shears, carefully remove the breast bone of the chicken and lay in butterfly position.
Season the chicken with olive oil and a spice rub. Cover the entire chicken and under the skin.
Place the season whole chicken in the butterfly position in the bottom of your air fryer basket.
Cook the chicken until the internal temperature is 165*F. This will take about 1 hour. You will have crispy outside with tender and moist chicken in the inside.
