Make this South American meal in the comfort of your home with this tasty Arepa Con Queso Recipe. It's easy to make and you can enjoy them as a fun snack or meal.

Easy and Delicious

You may recognize this as the meal that they eat in Disney's Encanto. Make your kids day by making this a fun themed movie night.

Encanto

With warm water and milk, melt the butter and add the masarepa and salt and mix until a dough is made.

Mix in mozzarella cheese and let the dough rest for 5 to 10 minutes to let the liquid absorb.

Form into a ball and make a well to add additional mozzarella cheese.

Close the ball of dough making sure the mozzarella cheese is in the center. Flatten like a pancake about 1/2 inch thick.

Oil both sides of the Arepa and place on a preheated griddle. Cook for 5-7 minutes on each side until golden brown.

Once the dough is cooked through and cheese is melted in the middle. Enjoy plain or topped with pico, avocado, or more cheese!
