With sharp cutting shears, cut the backbone from the whole chicken. Flip the chicken over and place in a butterfly position.

Rub with olive oil and then season with lemon juice.

Mix together the spices to make a rub. Cover the outside of the oiled chicken.

Place in your air fryer basket and air fry for 50 minutes at 350* F. Or until chicken reaches 165* F.

Let sit for 15 minutes so the juices settle. Cut and serve hot.

I got a double pack of whole chickens from costco and made them both with this spatchcock air fryer recipe. It was a huge hit! They were on the bigger side so they took about a 1 hour to cook but they were perfectly moist in the middle and crispy on the outside just like the recipe said!
