We love that you can make a huge batch of this tasty strawberry compote and save some in the refrigerator and freeze the rest for another time. It's great for breakfasts and desserts and kids love it!

Add fresh cut strawberries to a medium sized sauce pan. Make sure they are washed and quartered.

Add lemon juice and sugar with the fresh cut strawberries. This adds a sweet flavor and keeps the compote fresh looking.

Bring the strawberries to a boil and then simmer until the juices are released from the strawberries and they begin to break down.

Serve over the top of desserts or with breakfast like french toast, pancakes, waffles and even oatmeal.
