Boil the potatoes in a sauce pan until you can easily pierce the potato with a fork.
Drain the potatoes and with the back of a cup or measuring cup gently smash the potatoes down.
Smash each potato until they are 1/4-1/2 inch thick. Be careful to not press down to quickly so the potato doesn't break apart.
Place each potato in the air fryer basket and spread the parmesan garlic butter on the top. Air fry at 400 degrees.
Cook until the smashed potatoes are golden brown and crispy on the outside. Enjoy!
