Air Fryer Texas toast is the best way to make frozen Texas Toast. With its perfectly toasted outside and soft and fluffy center, it makes a perfect side dish for any pasta dish.
Place frozen Texas Toast in the air fryer basket in a single layer. Leave a tiny bit of space between the slices so they don't stick together and so there is room for air flow. Cook for 4 minutes, flip, and cook an additional 2 minutes. Cook longer for crispy and shorter for soft.
With Cheese:
Follow directions above, except after flipping the toast, sprinkle cheese on top. Cook until cheese is melty, 2-3 minutes. Our favorite with Texas Toast is parmesan.
Not all air fryers are created equally. Your air fryer may need more or less time to cook the toast. I used a NINJA Foodi grill air fryer for this recipe.
Notes
The butter from the toast makes it so that the toast does not stick to the air fryer basket. There is no need to grease the basket for this recipe.
Make sure there is a tiny bit of space between each slice of toast. Otherwise there isn't proper air flow and they won't cook properly.
This produces a toast that is lightly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. For extra crispy, cook 2 minutes longer. For a soft bread with melty butter, cook 2 minutes each side.
For a little extra flavor, sprinkle on a little italian seasoning and red pepper flakes after flipping the toast.
