Instructions
Place Hawaiian Punch in the bottom β of your glass. Add ice and fill it β full. Slowly and carefully pour the diet blue gatorade over the ice. It's important to go slowly and pour directly onto the ice instead of directly onto the Hawaiian Punch. This ensures that the 2 don't mix and the colors stay separated. See note 2 below
Notes
We HIGHLY recommend you start with cold beverages for this drink. If your Hawaiian Punch is warm, it will melt the ice making it more watery, which will make it less sugary, which will make it weigh less, which will make the drinks combine.
The reason all of this works is the weight of the different drinks. The more sugar, the heavier the drink. If you wanted to, you could use G2 gatorade and diet soda. G2 gatorade has less sugar. I tried it with G2 for the blue and diet Sprite for the top and found it to work okay, but not great. There was a lot of color mixing and I had to be more careful and go super slowly. I also felt like they mixed really easily when moved around as well.
I tried pedialyte type drinks as well. If you go grab a pedialyte type drink expecting it to weigh less due to the lower sugar content, be careful because they have more salt and other electrolytes, making them more dense.
