How to Make a Dessert Charcuterie Board
Use these process shots to help get the results you want. The pictures can help with presentation and texture.

- Prep anything needed first. Make the caramel, brownie batter, dip the strawberries, etc. For the layout, start with your anchors. Usually, this would be any large decorative elements or bowls of things. Here I have a bowl of candied pecans, edible brownie batter, and homemade caramel.

- Add some more large elements and things in the corners or along the anchors. This is how to get the layout correct.

- Begin to fill in. Use large groupings of things. Place things of different colors and textures next to each other to add beauty and variety. Too many small clusters can make the board look cluttered and messy.

- Fill in all gaps. Part of what makes a charcuterie board beautiful is how full it is.
Hint: On a large board, use large groups of things for a less cluttered look. Place different colors next to each other for more of a pop and a stunning look.

The first couple of times I made a charcuterie board, I made the mistake of not using enough food. I couldn't figure out why it didn't look great. Turns out it just needed to be stuffed full of those finger foods to get that really elegant look.

Instructions
- Prepare any elements necessary. Make edible brownie batter dip, caramel topping, dip strawberries, etc.
- Begin with your anchors. So any bowls of things or large decorative pieces. Place them evenly around the board. I recommend an odd number.
- Start placing groups of items around the anchors and around the edges of the charcuterie board.
- Begin to fill the gaps. Place items of different sizes and textures next to each other to add variety and make it beautiful.
- Make sure to fill in any final gaps. Part of what makes a charcuterie board so stunning and fancy is how full it is.
