Key Ingredients
This is the ultimate sweet and salty Christmas mix with all the right textures and flavors.

- Salty- Get your crunch with Corn Chex, Pretzel Sticks, and Peanuts.
- White Chocolate Melting Wafers - Be sure to use high-quality melting wafers. We have found through trial and error that off-brands have varying melting properties and often sieve up.
- Sweet- Add in Peanut M&Ms and plain M&Ms to give you a variety of flavors and textures. You'll also use sweet Honey Nut Cheerios for extra sweet flavor.
How to make Christmas White Trash Snack Mix
Learn how to mix Christmas White Trash Snack Mix with these easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions.

- In a large bowl, add all of the ingredients except the white chocolate melting wafers.

- Melt the White Chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Melt in 30-second intervals and stir in between each interval.

- Pour the melted white chocolate on top of the bowl of ingredients. Gently mix with a spatula until all of the ingredients are coated.

- Spread the chocolate-coated mix onto a prepared parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Hint: Make this with powdered sugar by sprinkling the mixture with powdered sugar after laying it out on wax paper.
Common Mistakes
One common mistake is overheating the almond bark or white chocolate - if it gets too hot, it can seize up and turn grainy instead of smooth. Make sure to melt the chocolate in short increments and mix before continuing.

Top tip
Work quickly once your white chocolate is melted! Pour it over the mix and stir fast to coat everything evenly, then spread it right away on the parchment paper.
Recipe

Christmas White Trash Snack Mix
Ingredients
- 4 cups Corn Chex see note 1
- 3 cups Honey Nut Cheerios see note 2 for more options
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 1 cup peanuts
- 1 cup peanut m&ms around 6.5 ounces
- 1 cup plain m&ms around 6.5 ounces
- 20 oz white chocolate melting wafers or almond bark or white chocolate chips, see note 3 below
Instructions
- Spread out a piece of wax or parchment paper on a clean work surface.

- Place Corn Chex, Cheerios and pretzel sticks in a large bowl and toss to combine. Add the peanuts, peanut m&ms and plain m&ms, then toss slightly.

- Melt the melting wafers or almond bark according to package directions and immediately drizzle over top of the mixture. Stir using a folding motion to combine. Spread out on wax paper and allow the chocolate to harden. Serve or break into smaller pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes
- You can make this with your favorite type of Chex! We love Corn Chex so make it with Corn Chex. This is also good with Rice and even Wheat Chex.
- Instead of Honey Nut Cheerios you can use regular Cheerios or Golden Grahams for a fun twist.
- To make with white chocolate or vanilla chips use 3.5 cups chips. Add 1 teaspoon vegetable or coconut oil then melt in the microwave first for 30 seconds, then in 15 second increments, mixing a little between each addition until smooth.

Variations
- Cereal swaps: Try using Rice Chex or Wheat Chex instead of Corn Chex, or substitute Golden Grahams for Honey Nut Cheerios for a fun twist.
- Flavor options: Use vanilla melting wafers or white chocolate chips (melt with 1 teaspoon coconut or vegetable oil for a smooth texture).
- Add-ins: Mix in mini marshmallows or crushed peppermint candies for a festive touch.
- Texas-style: Add roasted peanuts and peanut M&Ms for that classic southern sweet-salty combo.
Storing
Store your White Trash Christmas Snack Mix in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. If you need to make it ahead, you can refrigerate it for up to 2 weeks - just bring it back to room temperature before serving so it's perfectly crunchy.
