Ingredients
This recipe only use 3 ingredients! Look to our tips and tricks to have the best recipe experience.

- Sugar cookies- Crunchy sugar cookies work the best with this recipe. You can use store bought, or you can use leftover homemade cookies. It's a fun way to use up cookies that no one wants to eat anymore.
- Vanilla melting wafers- We've had the best luck with high-quality brand melting wafers. Store brand sometimes has unpredictable melting properties that make it hard to work with.
- Cream Cheese - We tested all types of cream cheese for this recipe and are happy to report that any type from neufchâtel to bargain brand to high end cream cheese all work for this recipe.
- Sprinkles- Sprinkles are a great way to make this particular for different events like Christmas, Halloween, Birthday Parties, and Baby Showers.
See recipe card for quantities.
How to make Sugar Cookie Truffles
Follow these step by step instructions to make easy, no bake, sugar cookie truffles.

- Crush the sugar cookies into a fine mixture. Mixed the crushed sugar cookies with softened cream cheese.

- Form the sugar cookie cream cheese mixture into small balls. Place the balls in the freezer for 20 minutes for easy dipping.

- Melt the white chocolate candy melts. Remove the sugar cookie balls from the freezer. Dip each ball in the melted candy melts.

- Immediately sprinkle festive sprinkles on top of each chocolate dipped truffle. Once the chocolate has set, serve and enjoy!
Hint: Be sure to add the sprinkles to the dipped truffle right away. If the chocolate hardens, the sprinkles won't stick.
Substitutions and Variations
Try some of our favorite substitutions and variations for different fun flavors!
- Chocolate- Use chocolate melting wafers instead of vanilla melting wafers.
- Cake pop- For a fun birthday party, or baby shower treat, use cake pop sticks to dip them, and make them into cake pops!
- OREO-Use 8 oz crushed OREOS minus the filling instead of sugar cookies. Yum, and OREO cookie truffle!
How To Serve
I love how versatile these truffles are. They come together so quickly and easily that they make the perfect last minute dessert for birthdays, Halloween, Christmas, Baby showers, and Bridal Showers. Add a stick to make them cake pop style, or style them with theme appropriate sprinkles.
How to Store Sugar Cookie Truffles
Once assembled and dipped, store the Sugar Cookie Truffles in the refrigerator before serving. Any leftover truffles need to be stored in an air tight container in the refrigerator.
These freeze well! Freeze assembled truffles in a freezer-friendly container for 1 month. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving. Or you can eat them frozen!

Top tip
Dipping the sugar cookie truffles can be tricky! If the chocolate gets to hard, microwave for 10-15 seconds and stir. You can also add 1 tablespoon of shortening to the melted chocolate so it's easier to work with.

Sugar Cookie Truffles
Ingredients
- 8 oz sugar cookies crunchy, see note 1 below
- 3 oz cream cheese softened
- 6 oz vanilla melting wafers
- festive sprinkles
Instructions
- Place crunchy sugar cookies in a food processor and process until you have a fine crumb. Place in a bowl and combine with cream cheese. It's easiest to use a handheld mixer, but be careful to stop mixing as soon as it's combined or it'll become too sticky and mushy. You may also use a spatula to combine.
- Form dough into balls. I used a small cookie scoop to get even sized balls. I recommend 1 - 1 ½ Tablespoon sized balls. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet and freeze for 20 minutes or more.
- Melt melting wafers according to package directions. See note 3 below for tips. Use a plastic fork with the 2 middle tines broken off and stick it in the cookie ball. Dip into the melted wafers, using a spoon to cover it completely if necessary. Allow excess to drip off, then place back on the parchment lined baking sheet and immediately add sprinkles. See pictures above for a great guide. Store in the refrigerator until serving.
Notes
- I got my crunchy sugar cookies from Wal-Mart. They ad sprinkles on them I scraped off. You can also use the Pepperidge Farm ones, or homemade. Just make sure they're crunchy!
- This recipe makes 12 - 1.5 Tablespoon sized truffles. I actually recommend making them 1 Tablespoon size, which makes 18. They look cuter and are easier to eat.
- If you are having trouble with the melting wafers, try adding 1 Tablespoon shortening to it, this should make it more easy to work with.
- If you don't immediately add your sprinkles, the melting wafers will harden too quickly and you'll miss your chance. It will harden quickly as the cookie balls will have come from the freezer.
- If your cookie balls become too soft, simply place back in the freezer for another 5 minutes.
- If your melting wafers start to get too hard, microwave for another 5-10 seconds to make it nice and smooth and liquid-y again.

These are such a fun Christmas Treat. My family loves making these festive grinch balls. I add the green dye with a touch of yellow to get that grinch color.
